How to join the Yoga Order Everybody is welcome to join us. However, before you send us your application we would advise you to read the following information. The Yoga Order is an independent Spiritual Initiative dedicated to the Yogic Principles of Truth, Simplicity, Unity and their practical application. These Principles are: 1. TRUTH (Also known as The Fourfold Truth Of Yoga) (1) The World is made of Intelligence, being the Creation of the Universal Consciousness. (2) The individual consciousness is essentially identical with the Universal Consciousness. (3) The purpose of human life is the realisation of this fundamental identity or unity (Yoga). (4) This realisation is brought about by the Teacher's grace and by systematic Spiritual Practice (Yoga). 2. SIMPLICITY The Essence of Life is Sheer Simplicity, the Principle whereby Ultimate Reality eternally shines like a mirror holding together a multitude of objects reflected in It without Its clarity and purity being in any way affected. As an expression of this Principle of Simplicity, in Yoga, we endeavour to constantly sharpen and simplify our perception of life until the One True Reality is revealed from behind the veil of multiplicity. 3. UNITY Yoga regards Unity as the fundamental principle of all life. The Three Main Aspects of Unity are: Individual Unity of body, mind and Soul. Planetary Unity of man with the whole of Mankind and with Planet Earth. Universal Unity of man, Nature and the Universal Consciousness or God. THE AIM OF YOGA is to create and experience Unity on all three levels and according to the Three Fundamental Principles as defined above. THE AIMS OF THE YOGA ORDER are: (1) to provide a focus for all who wish to adhere to these Principles, (2) to create a greater awareness in human society of the authentic Teachings of Yoga and their practical value in all wakes of life and (3) to encourage co-operation between the World's Spiritual traditions in finding real solutions to Mankind's Spiritual and material needs. REQUIREMENTS FOR MEMBERSHIP To become a member of The Yoga Order the applicant must: - Be at least 18 years of age. Teenagers under the age of 18 may first become Friends of The Yoga Order as a preliminary step to full membership (see below). - Be of good physical and mental health. - Be motivated in his actions by a desire to find truth and help others. - Accept the existence of a Supreme Spiritual Intelligence whose essence is Goodness. - Be determined to abide by the Spiritual Laws of the Universe as reflected in the Yogic Principles of Truth, Simplicity, Unity. - Agree to operate as propagator of Spiritual Knowledge by actively participating in the advancement of the Order's Work of World Illumination. MEMBERSHIP must be applied for in writing (letter or e-mail) with a brief personal introduction, stating the reasons for which the applicant wishes to join the Order and the ways in which he or she intends to contribute to the Order's Work. HONORARY MEMBERSHIP may be granted to individuals or groups of individuals whose association with the Order is regarded as mutually beneficent. FRIENDS OF THE YOGA ORDER: Any person above the age of 16 professing a sincere desire to help in the advancement of our Work may become a Friend of The Yoga Order.
